Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technicians at Sterling Ethanol LLC build, maintain and repair production equipment for all departments as required. They trouble shoot and repair building mechanical systems including broilers, cooling tower and chemical treatment. They build a basic knowledge of plant processes, controls and operations in order to diagnose and repair equipment. Perform preventive maintenance duties on equipment as assigned. Disassemble and diagnose mechanical and electrical failures. Perform repairs on production and facilities equipment as required. May be called into work unusual and extended schedules due to equipment breakdowns or similar circumstances.

Must pass drug test including marijuana.

Responsibilities

- Building, maintain and repair production equipment

- Trouble shoot and repair building mechanical systems including broilers, cooling tower and chemical treatment

- Perform all project work, maintenance duties, and preventative maintenance as assigned to support plant goals

- Possess a basic knowledge of most plant processes, controls and operations in order to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions

- Disassemble and diagnose mechanical and electrical failures and perform some repairs on production and facilities equipment as required

- Install new equipment as required, making electrical connections and aligning equipment for production use as required.

- Maintains manuals of replacement part, equipment and maintenance requirements to facilitate emergency repairs.

- Develop knowledge of maintenance files, parts and vendors

- Perform welding duties as directed in repairing production equipment

- Document time spent and parts used on projects by completing time records through use of Mapcon system

- Conducts regular inspections of production equipment and performs daily preventative maintenance duties on plant equipment

- Maintains records of work performed and provides such to a designated location

- Develop and maintain knowledge of hand and power tools used in the repair and maintenance of plant equipment

- Possess knowledge of blueprints, equipment specifications and related manuals

- Participates in waste and cost savings providing recommendations for improvements in related procedures

- Maintains an effective working relationship with fellow employees

- Maintains the work area in a neat and orderly manner at all times

- Performs duties in a safe manner, utilizing all approved safety equipment and successfully completes all safety certification requirements

- May perform reasonably similar or related duties as assigned

- Attend safety, quality and departmental meetings

- Complete work orders in a timely fashion

Education:

- High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:
