2nd Shift Maintenance Technician – Foundry Operations
We’re looking for a skilled, hands-on Maintenance Technician to support safe, efficient operations across our Foundry. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, can troubleshoot effectively, and contributes to a strong team environment.
- Maintain and repair foundry production equipment to support safe, consistent operations
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Install and assist with commissioning of new equipment and upgrades
- Perform facility maintenance including plumbing, heating, and basic electrical work
- Inspect equipment and work areas to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Plan and prioritize maintenance work, including scheduling repairs and minimizing downtime
- Order parts and manage inventory through the maintenance system
- Document work performed and support continuous improvement efforts
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot independently
- Experience in industrial maintenance (foundry or heavy manufacturing is a plus)
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Ability to read prints, schematics, and technical manuals
Work Requirements - ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- High School Diploma or GED required; trade school certification or technical degree in maintenance, electrical, or related field preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong mechanical skills required, with proven electrical experience and solid working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems in a production environment.
The essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:
- Adherence to all safety procedures and requirements.
- Operation of material handling equipment including forklifts and other mobile equipment.
- Daily cleaning of work areas and manufacturing equipment.
- Cooperate with supervisors, machine operators and other mechanics in troubleshooting and repair of production equipment.
- Respond to needs for immediate repair of production equipment.
- Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities.
- Identify and resolve any safety or quality issues needing attention.
- Recommend process improvements.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- Flexibility of schedule to work alternate shifts as needed.
- Physically report to work on time for scheduled shifts (working remote is not available).
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to use arms, hands, legs and feet in repetitive motions.
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds repetitively.
- Must be able to climb ladders and stairs and to stand and walk on concrete floors and uneven surfaces for the duration of the work shift.
- Must have good vision and depth perception.
- Must be able to work overtime as needed.
- The ability to respond quickly to sounds.
- The ability to have depth perception and to see / respond to production needs or situations.
- The ability to work in high temperatures.
- The ability to communicate verbally with coworkers and supervisors.
- The ability to wear personal protective gear during the shift while working.
- Frequent exposure to loud noises and vibration.
- Regular exposure to temperature variations.
- Frequent exposure to dust.
- Must have great attention to detail, be results-oriented, and work effectively to resolve issues.
- Strong mechanical skills required, with proven electrical experience and solid working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems in a production environment.
- Must possess the ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions.Minimum 2 years’ experience in repair and maintenance of heavy production equipment.
