Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. A Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that equipment, machinery, and systems within a facility are maintained, repaired, and operational. They play a key role in preventing downtime and ensuring smooth operations by performing routine inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on various systems.
- Preventative maintenance: perform regular inspections and maintenance of equipment, machinery, and systems to prevent breakdowns.
- Clean. lubricate, and adjust machinery as needed.
- Maintain logs and reports of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and routine maintenance checks.
- Troubleshooting and repairs: diagnose mechanical, elcetrical, and systems issues promptly. Repair or replace faulty parts, components, or equipment. Work with production teams to minimize downtime during equipment failures.
- Facility maintenance: conduct routine checks and repairs on building systems (e.g., fire alarms, exit lights). Respond to emergency maintenance needs in a timely manner.
- Documentation and reporting: maintain detailed records of maintenance work performed, including the completion of work orders and repair logs. Update inventory records and request spare parts when necessary. Report any safety or maintenance concerns to management.
- Collaboration: work closely with other departments (e.g., production and safety) to ensure efficient operation of machinery and facility systems.
- Safety compliance: follow all safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance tasks. Ensure all tools, machinery, and systems are in safe operating conditions. Wear appropriate protective equipment and adhere to workplace safety standards.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in maintenance or a related filed preferred.
- Experience: proven experience as a maintenance technician or similar role preferred.
- Skills: strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, machinery, and systems. Proficient with hand and power tools.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot effectively.
- Certifications: relevant certifications preferred.
- Physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- May require working in confined spaces or at heights.
- Possible weekend shifts, depending on facility needs.
