- Ensure safe and proper operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and breakdown maintenance on production, facility, and supporting equipment including machinery, tools, conveyor systems, etc. while following drawings, diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance activities; monitoring compliance
- Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop tools and equipment.
- Read, understand, and troubleshoot using diagrams and manuals
- Understand electrical equipment and processes; properly use electrical hand and diagnostic tools
- Installation and commissioning of new and replacement equipment.
- Identify areas to improve productivity, equipment reliability, and Increase effectiveness of repair work.
- Work with Production and Maintenance manager/supervisor to ensure that operations function in a safe and efficient manner
- Comply with all OSHA and other safety and security policies in hydraulic, mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems paying particular attention to lock out / tag out and confined space procedures.)
- Associate degree in a related field is a plus
- 3 years’ experience in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical maintenance.
- Knowledge of machinery, air compressors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, plant and machine electrical systems, welding and fabrication
- High proficiency diagnosing and repairing mechanical equipment
- Problem-solving aptitude to ensure maintenance is provided in full, promptly, and adequately performed continued
- Request or procure parts required for repairs/projects
- Strong team attitude with ability to work alone or with others; self-starter; can-do attitude
- Fluency in written and oral communication in English and Spanish
- Ability to understand and interpret electrical/hydraulic/pneumatic/mechanical drawings, schematics, and machinery manuals
- Ability to use technology (computer, smartphone, internet, etc.) to research problems, determine parts requirements, interact with Computerize Maintenance Management system, and general communications.
- Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental, and department of health requirements.
- Other duties assigned by the leadership team.
- Ability to drive a forklift
- Ability to work overtime including Saturdays as required; be available for discussion (phone or text) off-hours for consultation.
