Mobile Maintenance Labourer

Alamos Gold’s Young-Davidson is a low-cost, long-life operation and one of Canada’s largest underground gold mines. It is located near the town of Matachewan centrally located between Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay and Sudbury, Ontario. The 2020 completion of a highly automated, lower mine expansion has resulted in Young-Davidson increasing production and generating strong free cash flow. With a large Mineral Reserve base, it will serve as Alamos’ foundation for growth for many years to come. Reporting to the Supervisor, Mobile Maintenance, the successful candidate will be responsible for performing a full range of labourer and mechanical related duties.


Primary Responsibilities:

- Safely Operate Boom truck;

- Bring parts and supplies to and from shops and job sites;

- Bring garbage to surface;

- Support, organize, clean, and re-stock the shop;

- Washing equipment;

- Small mechanical duties; and

- Other duties assigned by the Supervisor, Mobile Maintenance as required.


Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

- Mechanical experience in underground mining operation is preferred but not required;

- Motivated self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, comfortable working alone and with others;

- Accredited in U/G common core modules would be an asset;

- Strong safety focus; and desire to learn about mobile maintenance; and

- Potential opportunity to progress into trades apprenticeship.

Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off – 10 hour shifts
