Job Title: Machinist Supervisor

Location: Sauget, Illinois

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend availability

Salary: $75,000.00- $88,000.00

Position Summary

We are seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Machinist Supervisor to lead and support a team of skilled machinists in a dynamic manufacturing environment. While this role does not involve direct machining responsibilities, the supervisor must possess a strong understanding of machining operations to effectively guide, train, and oversee their team.

Key Responsibilities

The Machinist Supervisor will oversee machinists whose responsibilities include:

- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining operations.

- Setting up and operating manual machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drills.

- Selecting appropriate tools, materials, and machining processes for each job.

- Monitoring machine operations to ensure workpieces meet quality standards and specifications.

- Performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to ensure optimal performance.

- Inspecting finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

- Collaborating with engineers and other team members to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency.

- Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

- Documenting all production activities, including setup procedures, machine parameters, and quality inspections.

Qualifications

- 5+ years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.

- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.

- Strong understanding of manual machinery and precision measurement tools.

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

- Excellent communication and team leadership skills.

- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Working Conditions

- Production floor environment with exposure to machinery and equipment.

- Must be able to walk, stand, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.

Pay Range:

68,000.00 - 102,000.00
