Littlestown Foundry is seeking an experienced and detailed Machine Shop Supervisor to help drive our machine shop to meet quality standards and grow business. Daily duties include managing machinists with daily operations, scheduling production, and ensuring quality goals are met every day. This leadership role requires strong knowledge to troubleshoot equipment, manage employees, enforce safety protocols, train, and oversee daily operations.
- Schedule, prioritize, and manage workflow of machine jobs and projects to meet deadlines
- Oversee machining operations involving CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and other machining equipment
- Review technical drawings and ensure proper interpretation for accurate machining
- Conduct quality control inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and GD&T standards.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
- Train staff on the use of hand tools, power tools, and tooling setups.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and reduce waste within the shop.
- Coordinate with foundry personnel for inventory management and material incoming/outgoing.
- Maintain documentation related to machine maintenance, production reports, and quality assurance records.
- Willingness to learn GIBBSCAM
- Proven experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment with a background in machining operations including CNC programming.
