Labourer/fabricator

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and versatile Laborer to join our team in supporting various manufacturing, welding, and assembly projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with a range of tools and techniques. This role offers an opportunity to develop skills in fabrication, welding plus various large machines such as brake & shear while contributing to the successful completion of diverse projects. Candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment that emphasizes safety, teamwork, and quality.

Responsibilities

- Perform basic machining tasks including operating press brake machines, plasma cutters, and other power tools

- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication

- Conduct welding operations such as MIG and TIG welding to join metal components according to specifications

- Use hand tools, calipers, and other measuring devices for precise fabrication and assembly tasks

- Operate forklifts safely to move materials around the worksite or manufacturing floor

- Assist with the setup and operation of machinery related to manufacturing processes

- Follow safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe working environment for all team members

Experience

- Prior experience in manufacturing, construction, or related fields preferred but not required

- Knowledge of welding techniques including MIG and TIG welding is highly desirable

- Experience operating power tools, hand tools, calipers, plasma cutters, press brake machines is beneficial

- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks

- Previous experience with forklifts or other heavy equipment operation is preferred but training can be provided for qualified candidates

Pay: $17.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
