Position

Labourer, Site Services Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Supervisor, Site Services this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

- Assist Trades in performing daily functions at the mine, such as assisting operators in avoiding any potential collisions or accidents;

- Complete ground crew responsibilities for inbound and outbound flights;

- Ensure that trucks and equipment are safely and securely stored;

- Organize the sea cans and ensure accessibility throughout the year;

- Load, unload, and identify construction materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations;

- Clean and prepare sites to eliminate possible hazards e.g., tripping hazards; and ensure all safety standards are met;

- Keep entrances clear of rubbish and unwanted items in accordance with site standards;

- Clean and stack salvaged material to a safe standard, clean up chemical spills and other contaminants in accordance with health and safety practices; Assist Operators with waste management and emptying pactos;

- Shovel, plow, and sand pathways as required during winter months; and

- Report deficiencies in site product stocking levels as required to supervisor.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

- One (1) year of general labourer experience in a remote camp environment. Prior work at a mine site is preferred;

- Completion of High school diploma or GED; and

- Ability to comprehend, read, write, and converse in functional English to ensure safe working conditions on site.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $82,680.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $30.00 and overtime rate of $45) in a work year.
