Labour Relations will support the legal department in a variety of matters that impact our business including Collective Bargaining, Policy and Compliance, Grievance and Dispute Resolution, Strategy and Planning, and Training and Support
- A degree, diploma, or certificate in Labour Relations, Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Law, Business, or a related field
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in labour relations, HR, or a similar role
- A solid understanding of Canadian and provincial labour and employment legislation
- Hands-on experience with collective bargaining, grievance handling, and arbitration support
- Confidence interpreting and administering collective agreements
- Experience or familiarity with the utility sector (distribution, transmission, and communications)
- Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Comfort working independently while knowing when to collaborate
- A high level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam or estimation software is a plus
- Supporting and participating in collective bargaining, including research, preparation, and negotiations
- Managing the grievance process, from investigation through resolution
- Representing the company in arbitrations and other labour-related proceedings
- Advising leaders and employees on labour laws, HR policies, and collective agreements
- Helping develop and implement labour relations strategies, policies, and programs
- Providing guidance and support on day-to-day labour and HR matters
- Researching best practices in compensation, benefits, and health & safety to support continuous improvement
