Modern Energy Solutions is a fast-growing solar provider in Utah. We specialize in residential solar installation, troubleshooting, repairs, and long-term maintenance. As our project volume expands rapidly across Utah County and Salt Lake County, we are hiring a Journeyman Electrician to help support safe, high-quality installations and customer satisfaction.

Position Overview

We are seeking a licensed Journeyman Electrician to support our residential solar operations. This is a full-time, field-based position. Because we are still in the process of establishing a physical office, this role functions much like a remote field technician—you will have daily access to a fully outfitted utility truck and drive directly from home to assigned job sites.

The ideal candidate is independent, reliable, efficient, and experienced with residential electrical systems, solar equipment, and NEC code compliance.

Responsibilities

- Perform electrical work necessary for residential solar installations, including wiring, conduit runs, panel upgrades, breaker installations, and system commissioning.

- Conduct site assessments, troubleshoot system issues, perform diagnostics, and complete repairs.

- Ensure full compliance with NEC, local jurisdiction codes, and utility requirements.

- Work closely with installation crews to oversee safe and correct electrical work on job sites.

- Complete all required documentation, inspection prep, and install photos.

- Interact professionally with customers and inspectors to ensure a positive experience.

- Maintain, organize, and care for the provided company vehicle, tools, and equipment.

- Drive directly from home to job sites (no reporting to an office unless scheduled).

- Participate in ongoing training and company meetings as required.

Qualifications

- Current Utah Journeyman Electrician License (required).

- Minimum 2 years of residential electrical experience; solar experience strongly preferred.

- Proficiency in wiring methods, service upgrades, breakers, meters, disconnects, and load calculations.

- Ability to work independently without daily supervision.

- Valid Utah driver’s license and clean driving record.

- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to safety.

- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work on rooftops as needed.

- Excellent communication and customer interaction skills.

Pay: $33.00 - $38.00 per hour
