Position Summary
Under direct supervision, provides daily support to the procurement of materials, supplies, and services required for the continual operation of the District's water and gas systems, business operations and the Purchasing team. Accuracy and attention to detail are critical skills and must be a part of daily activities.
Education
- Required - Completed a minimum of one (1) year of college level coursework, preferably in supply chain, business, information technology, or a closely related or technical field of study. Must be currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate program or if a recent graduate, must be pursuing post graduate hours.
- Preferred - Previous experience with SAP or other ERP software.
- Required - Pre-employment Background Check & Drug Screen Upon Hire
- Proficiency with personal computers, tablets, and/or other electronic devices to include familiarity with, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and enterprise wide software (e.g., SAP). Aptitude and willingness to work with new software.
- Ability to learn new or upgraded computer software as required.
- Exceptional organizational skills including ability to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, and adapt quickly to changing work demands and interruptions.
- Must exhibit good analytical ability.
- Ability to work independently on a consistent basis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, in English, to professionally and effectively communicate with internal and external customers, vendors, co-workers, and management, regardless of provocation.
- Analyze data for reporting and updating of records in SAP.
- Upload contract information from online bidding activities into SAP.
- Assist Buyers to resolve pricing discrepancies.
- Provide assistance to Buyers with various sourcing/bidding activities.
- Communicate with vendors and internal customers on products and services; invoices; purchase orders; deliveries; and other related procurement functions.
