Job Title: Human Resources Assistant with a focus on Recruiting and Onboarding


Position Summary

The Human Resources Assistant supports the HR Manager in all functional areas of the department, with a primary focus on full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and associate engagement. This role plays a key part in building a strong workforce by helping attract, welcome, and retain high-quality talent.


Key Responsibilities

Support the recruitment process, including:

Posting job openings
Screening resumes and applications
Scheduling and participating in interviews
Conducting reference checks and pre-employment screenings
Coordinate and lead onboarding for new hires, including:
New hire orientations
HRIS entry and recordkeeping
Benefits, training and documentation
Maintain and update accurate employee records and personnel files
Manage training coordination and tracking; maintain the training database
Support employee engagement and retention strategies
Help develop and document HR policies and procedures
Provide general HR support including handling inquiries, assisting with investigations, and maintaining confidentiality in all matters
Participate in community and workforce development activities to promote company presence
Remain current on HR best practices, employment law, and compliance updates

All responsibilities require varying degrees of physical activity, independent judgment, discretion, and mobility throughout the office and production areas. The company reserves the right to modify or assign additional duties as necessary.


Requirements

Demonstrated sense of urgency and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of employment law and HR compliance practices
Ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time
Must exercise independence, sound judgment, and discretion in daily responsibilities
Comfortable working in a manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, dust, and metal particles
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications or bachelor’s in human resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
Experience: 3+ years of HR experience in a manufacturing environment, with recruiting and onboarding focus


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: From $18.00 per hour
