HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT II : $20.33 PER HOUR $42,286.40 YEARLY
HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT, SENIOR: $21.60 PER HOUR $44,928.00 YEARLY
Progression in position occurs over time advancing levels within the position from an Assistant I to II and Senior. The Assistant II level is when the position takes on more independent and higher level responsibility of each function and the Senior level is focused more on taking a team leader role in the Human Resources department as it pertains to the HR Assistant's job functions.
JOB SUMMARY:This position supports the Districts entire Human Resources department (HR, Workforce Development, Risk Management and Safety) and their functions and activities.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities•Assists the Human Resources Department in various and random taskings; such as but not limited to: setting appointments, managing schedules, emailing employee notices, setting up for or cleaning up after meetings; purchasing miscellaneous items for meetings or events, such as food, drinks and supplies.
•Assists in scheduling and arranging for applicant interviews and maintaining job files and producing employee ID badges.
•Assists in arranging training classes, including food and drinks. May require placing orders, arranging pick up and delivery or direct local store purchases.
•Answers and routes incoming HR department phone calls. Greets and facilitates department visits; both internal employees and external vendors or the public.
•Facilitates mail within HR department; opens and distributes all incoming mail and processing of all external mailings.
•Assists in facilitating meeting preparation; including set up, food and drink purchases and printing flyers or handouts. Such meetings include but are not limited to: safety meetings, new hire orientations, employee trainings and other similar meetings.
•Assists sending monthly meeting reminders to employees; safety meetings, committee meetings, scheduled training, employee recognition events or ceremonies, etc.
•Assists with the administration of the Employee Uniform Program. Makes changes as requested, submits orders, requests refunds or credits and communicates with vendor and processes payments. Assists in sizing, changes and issuing employee uniforms.
•Produces various flyers, advertisements and notices to keep employees apprised of various programs and activities. Creates documents and forms to support District needs.
•Maintains and orders HR department's office supplies, employee and job fair swag and other miscellaneous purchases.
•Facilitates employee raffle events and employee recognition, such as Star Awards and Employee of the Quarter nominations.
•Provides support for special projects, i.e. Health Fair, United Way, American Heart Association, etc.
•Scans hard copy documents into electronic format under the Districts Go Green initiative.
•Other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Education And Experience
High School and zero to two years directly related experience.

•Exhibits intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.

Technical Skills Required
•Knowledge and ability with office equipment to include, but not limited to: folding machines, postage machines, copier, fax, printers, etc.
•Expertise in use of personal computers, in filing and maintaining physical and electronic filing systems, in organizing, and in human resources practices is helpful.
•Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledgeable of applicable computer personnel software application.
•Strong organizational skills and ability to change priorities rapidly when District requirements demand.
•Self-motivated and work with minimum supervision; requires accuracy and attention to detail in all work.

Must be appropriately attired for an office environment.
