Human Resources Assistant

PURPOSE AND ROLE

The Human Resources Assistant will be a trustworthy individual responsible for providing day-to-day administrative assistance to the Director of Human Resources for a Refinery operations located in San Antonio, Texas.

# JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide support in key HR areas such as New Hire Onboarding/Offboarding, Payroll Review and Recruiting.

- Monitor HR Inbox, 401K Reporting and Changes, Leaves of Absence requests.

- Interaction with all levels of employees to communicate and interpret HR policies and processes.

- Ability to effectively research as requested in various areas of compliance.

- Assist with coordination of open enrollment, company drug screening process as needed.

- Team player and trusted advisor to promote company Guiding Principles, positive work environment and safety initiatives.

- Other HR or office related duties, events as assigned.

- Assist with backup support to Director of Human Resources.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field.

- 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources role; HR certification preferred but not required.

- Knowledge of labor and employment laws, administering HR policies and best practices.

- Excellent time management, organizational skills and attention to detail required.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with customer service minded attitude.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, Word, PowerPoint and general office systems, and equipment.

- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential human resource information and records with discretion and integrity.

- This role is an onsite position for both office and field location.
