We are seeking a
PART-TIME (20-29 hours per week)HR Assistant to support key administrative functions across three affiliated companies, Brown Equipment Company (BEC), American Grease and Septic (AGS) and Hydromax Plumbing within the Human Resources department. Key functions include but not limited to filing, clerical duties, onboarding coordination, payroll support, offboarding assistance, and early stage recruiting tasks.
Essential Functions
- Maintain and organize employee files (electronic and paper)
- Assist with onboarding requirements, including adding new hires in Payroll/HRIS, creating and managing new hire tasks and sending notification emails to applicable onboarding groups
- Perform data updates into Payroll/HRIS system
- Serve as backup support for payroll processing
- Conduct basic phone interviews and screen candidates as directed
- Respond to employee questions and direct them appropriately
- Assist with offboarding tasks as directed, including updating software applications, creating documentation, and coordinating final steps
- Support other HR administrative projects assigned by the HR Manager
- Ensure employee satisfaction at the core of every decision and behavior
- Build sustainable relationships and engage employees by going the extra mile
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel and Word)
- Familiarity with HRIS or payroll systems a plus
- Clear verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in professional phone conversations
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability AND desire to provide exemplary customer service in all situations
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 2+ years of HR experience preferred
