About The Role

We are looking for an HR Officer who will provide support to the business across a range of HR processes and policies. Activities including guiding the business on the use of the appropriate HR tools and systems and managing employee/ labour relations queries. May perform tasks across multiple Human Resources job families.

This is a great opportunity for a dedicated, motivated candidate to provide human resource support to the business for a defined client group. Ensures the fair and consistent application of human resources policies, procedures and processes.

Reporting to the Hiring Manager, and working in a collaborative community, a challenging and exciting environment, you will

- Provide human resource operational support to Human Resource Business Partners, leaders and employees within client group.

- Support the deployment of operational projects and recurring annual activities such as salary review, talent review and performance management.

- Advise on human resources policies and procedures, employee relations, performance, labour and regulatory issues.

- Provide coaching to leaders and employees to support effective workplace relationships

- Provide case management service for all areas within the employee lifecycle.

- Provide support to special projects and other initiatives (e.g. employee engagement, performance and capability improvement, attractions and retention initiatives).

- Collect, analyse and report human resources data to human resources business partners and leaders.

- Manage human resource transactions to ensure accurate organisational hierarchy and employee data is maintained for customer group.


What You’ll Bring

- Demonstrated ability to effectively apply knowledge of human resources laws & policies

- Employee Relations experience

- Experience with MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)

We are a leading North American producer and exporter of premium iron ore pellets and high-grade concentrate with average iron grades greater than 66%. With a team of over 2,700 employees, IOC is committed to providing value and continuity for our customers, employees, communities and shareholders through our unique mine to port approach, taking advantage of our full integration and wholly owned infrastructure to deliver our high-quality concentrate and pellets to our customers across the globe.

IOC’s operations include a mine with five operational pits; a concentrator and a pelletizing plant located near Labrador City in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador.  We also operate a wholly-owned 418 km railway, the Quebec North Shore and Labrador Railway (QNS&L), that links our Labrador operations to Company-owned port facilities in Sept-Iles.
