The Human Resources (HR) Manager will serve as a strategic partner to the organization through the oversight of all HR functions, including but not limited to, employee relations, compliance, compensation & benefits, talent acquisition, leadership development, performance management, and HR process improvement. The HR Manager will assess existing structures, programs, and processes, then recommend and implement changes to ensure maximum impact and contribution to the site. In this role, you will work with the leadership team to develop a culture that fosters positive employee engagement, professional growth, and continuous improvement while also fostering an accountability culture dedicated to meeting or exceeding stated organizational goals. The role currently has one direct report based in Los Angeles, CA. The HR Manager will report to the Corporate Controller.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
•Manages all Human Resources functions and acts as a liaison between employees and management
•Manage new hire onboarding program (Ensuring I-9 compliance, conducting orientation, onboarding paperwork, etc.). Create and send offer letters to new employees.
•Assist with Payroll Processing and Review as needed. Ensure compensation and compensation changes are accurately recorded in Paychex system
•Handle all aspects of payroll related tasks such as payroll garnishments, PTO, benefit program reconciliation
•Work with management to create job descriptions for every position
•Maintain updated employee information in Paychex system and work with HR Generalist to ensure employees understand how to use the system
•Manage Workers Comp and auto accident claims administration with insurance broker
•Create and update SOP's for HR, timekeeping and payroll processing
•Maintain employee handbook and ensure is up to date with any legislative changes and company policy changes
•Ensure all termination documentation is in compliance as required by labor laws and governing laws. Partner with mangers to ensure they understand procedures
•Manage a variety of other clerical tasks and assist on special projects as needed
Essential Skills:
•Strong Knowledge of HR and Payroll practices
•In-depth knowledge of Federal and multi-state labor laws
•Hiring / Termination best practices and legal requirements
•Proficiency (, Word, , etc.)
•Able to deliver effective results, meet tight deadlines and work with minimal supervision
•Ability to adapt and handle a changing work environment while completing essential job duties and functions
•Ability to interact and communicate professionally with all levels of employees
•Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
•A Bachelor’s degree in HR/Business or relevant experience in HR Management
•Remain up to date on all Federal and State employment laws
•Knowledge of California labor laws and regulations a plus
•Previous experience with Paychex Flex is required
