Hilcorp Safety Trainer

General Description:

The Safety Trainer is responsible for delivering safety training and orientation programs to employees and contractors supporting operations on Alaska's North Slope. This position works closely with Hilcorp safety personnel to ensure all personnel are properly trained, compliant with safety regulations, and prepared to work safely in Arctic and remote field environments. The Safety Trainer provides instruction on required safety courses, ensures training records are maintained, and promotes a strong culture of safety and regulatory compliance.

- Conduct safety orientations and training required for Hilcorp employees and contractors working on the North Slope.

- Deliver training related to Hilcorp safety standards, company policies, and regulatory compliance.

- Coordinate training schedules with operations, project managers, and field supervisors.

- Facilitate safety courses such as hazard recognition, PPE requirements, stop work authority, incident reporting, and safe work practices.

- Assist with development and updating of safety training materials and presentations. Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and documentation.

- Promote a strong safety culture aligned with Hilcorp expectations.

- Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:

- Maintain compliance with the required HSE Training.

- Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.

- Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.

- Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives.

- Participating in safety meetings, working safely, and maintaining a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.

- Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.

- Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walkdowns and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.

- Promote and participate in Safety Programs.

- Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Strong knowledge of oil and gas safety standards and North Slope operational requirements.

- Understanding of OSHA regulations, hazard identification, and industrial safety practices.

- Ability to effectively instruct and communicate safety information to diverse groups of employees.

- Strong presentation and facilitation skills.

- Ability to maintain accurate training documentation and certification records.

- Familiarity with remote field operations and Arctic work environments.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

- Must be 18 years old

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Valid Driver license

- NSTC Card

- 3–5 years of experience in industrial safety, safety training, or oil and gas safety programs.

- Experience delivering safety training in an industrial or oil field environment.

- Strong communication and instructional skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience working with Hilcorp safety programs and training requirements.

- Additional safety certifications such as H2S, Confined Space, or First Aid/CPR Instructor.

- Experience with incident investigation or safety program development.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

Position may involve exposure to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors. This position may involve working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.
