This is a full-time remote entry-level role. The right candidate has strong Excel and PowerPoint knowledge, is driven by excellence and embodies the values that make safety a core part of our identity. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting and advancing the DFS safety culture by ensuring employees have the tools, training, and resources needed to work safely and confidently. You will collaborate across departments, communicate effectively with team members at all levels, and contribute to continuous improvement in our safety programs and processes. This position requires a proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to making safety not just a priority, but a fundamental part of how we operate every day. This is a remote position, with most of our work occurring in the following states: Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, Arkansas, Ohio, and Louisiana.
- Maintain the Safety Learning Management System (LMS)
- Assist employees with training issues and questions
- Assist in the creation of safety training materials, using PowerPoint
- Manage safety communications
- Provide safety training and education to employees
- Maintain and track employee safety training records
- Ensure new hires receive safety onboarding orientation
- Work closely with Project Managers via email and phone to collect required information for client safety training compliance
- Participate in accident and incident investigations to determine root causes
- Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations
- Maintain records and documentation related to safety meetings and activities
- Coordinate with departments to address safety concerns
- Coordinate new hire drug screenings
- Assist with the random drug screening program, as needed
- Prepare and present safety reports to management
- Participate in and/or lead safety committee meetings and initiatives
- Assist in creating and maintaining safety procedure manuals
- Support documentation of inspections, incidents, and workplace safety activities
- Monitor client compliance platforms (ISNetworld, Avetta, Veriforce) for updates and requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to learn federal, state, and local EHS compliance and regulatory requirements related to EHS practices
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Familiarity with safety certifications or training (preferred)
- Basic knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Knowledge of PHMSA Substance Abuse Testing requirements (preferred)
- Ability to communicate effectively with field crews over the phone and provide clear, patient training guidance to ensure understanding and compliance.
- Ability to work standard hours (8:00 AM–5:00 PM CST) while remaining flexible for meetings and to support employee training needs, including occasional evening and weekend phone calls.
