About This Job

The HTS Leadman is responsible for overseeing and managing hazardous tank and piping abatement projects while working alongside crews to complete tasks safely and efficiently. This role ensures all work complies with State and Federal regulations, coordinates field crews, and documents tasks, providing leadership and support for abatement operations.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

- Oversee hazardous tank and piping abatement operations to ensure work is performed safely and in compliance with all applicable regulations.

- Lead and coordinate field crews, assigning tasks and monitoring progress to meet project schedules.

- Work alongside crews completing tasks, providing guidance, instruction, and support to ensure work is done correctly and safely.

- Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance and proper execution of work.

- Document work progress, safety observations, and project completion details.

- Maintain 100% “Safety Standards and Accountability” in all areas or mandatory/regulatory requirements, which include:

- Maintain compliance with the required HSE Training.

- Taking necessary action when behaviors or conditions around you may be unsafe.

- Reporting and addressing all potential safety concerns/incidents/issues promptly and willingly participate and assist in any investigation that may relate to a safety incident.

- Performs work in strict compliance with permitting requirements, Alaska Safety Handbook (ASH) Standards and other compliance-oriented directives.

- Participating in safety meetings, working safely, and maintaining a safe work environment as an employee and representative of CCI Industrial Services.

- Document and record any injury or near miss incident that may occur while you are working.

- Demonstrate and promote safe work practices by participating in JSA reviews, pre-job walkdowns and safety START card preparations covering work activities and materials required by the company and the client.

- Promote and participate in Safety Programs.

- Other duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Strong leadership and crew management skills.

- Ability to work hands-on with crews in remote or industrial environments.

- Knowledge of hazardous material abatement processes and safety procedures.

- Understanding of State and Federal regulations related to environmental safety and hazardous materials.

- Ability to read and interpret project plans, drawings, and specifications.

- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.


Requirements:


Required Qualifications:

- Must be 18 years old

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Valid driver's license

- NSTC card

- Minimum 2 years of experience in hazardous materials abatement, tank or piping operations, or industrial cleaning.


Preferred Qualifications:

- Previous North Slope or remote industrial site experience.

- Experience supervising field crews in hazardous material abatement projects.

- Strong knowledge of industrial safety programs and leadership initiatives.


Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

Position may involve exposure to extremely hostile weather conditions at times while working outdoors. This position may involve working with potentially hazardous materials and waste.

A pre-hire post offer Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to determine an employee's ability to perform to the job standard. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.


FCE LEVEL #3

- MOBILITY: Must be able to access all controls and all parts of machinery for service. Must be able to push/pull 50 pounds for 20 feet.

- LIFTING: Must be able to routinely lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, 50 pounds from wait level to shoulder height and carry 50 pounds for 20 feet.

- HEARING: Must be able to hear audible safety alarms.

- VISUAL ACUITY: Must be adequate to perform above listed tasks in a safe manner and take hand signals from ground man or flag man.

- RANGE OF MOTION: An objective range of motion measurements will be conducted and recorded using a five position and rapid exchange grip strength test during the pre-hire/post offer FCE.
