Galley Utility Specialist (Kitchen Helper - Night Shift)

Job Summary:

The Galley Utility Specialist supports kitchen operations during the night shift by maintaining a clean, safe, and organized galley. This role is responsible for cleaning and sanitizing kitchen areas, assisting with food service, basic food preparation, and ensuring the galley is ready for the following day’s operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Clean and sanitize kitchen, dining, and food preparation areas in accordance with health and safety standards

- Wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment

- Assist with basic equipment care and report maintenance or repair needs

- Serve supper to staff or crew during assigned service times

- Prepare food items for the next day, including basic prep work and ingredient organization

- Prepare desserts as assigned

- Assist with serving breakfast for the next shift

- Stock supplies, food items, and utensils as needed

- Properly handle, store, and label food items

- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company policies

- Maintain a professional and cooperative working environment

- Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

- Previous kitchen, galley, or food service experience preferred

- Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices

- Ability to follow instructions and work independently during night hours

- Strong attention to cleanliness and organization

- Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift

- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40–50 pounds

- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and repetitive motions

- Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, or noisy kitchen environments

- Manual dexterity to handle kitchen tools, equipment, and cleaning supplies
