Fitters

Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Fitter to join our team. The primary objective of this position is to plan, set up, sequence, layout, and fit steel columns, bracing, and beams with precision and efficiency.

Specific Duties:

- Read and analyze structural detail drawings

- Interpret routine welding symbols

- Fit a range of components including columns, beams, and bracing for fabrication

- Plan work efficiently to meet deadlines

- Adhere to quality control (QC) guidelines

- Produce acceptable fillet welds in three processes and full penetration welds in two processes

- Lead the fabrication crew in the absence of supervision

- Assist in QC inspections as required

- Support lower-class fitters and provide guidance as needed

- Perform machine and hand burning tasks

- Maintain a clean and organized work area

- Complete all other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements:

- High School Diploma or equivalent

- 3 to 5 years of fabrication experience

- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds

- Capability to bend, lift, and twist as required by job functions

- Strong communication skills

- Proficient in mathematical calculations related to fabrication
