We are a family owned structural and miscellaneous fabrication shop looking for fitters to join our team!
Job Type: Full tyime/Schedule: Monday - Friday 6am - 3:30 p.m. and sometimes Sat 6a.m. - 12p.m.
Training or Certification in Welding/Fitting a plus (or a minimum of 5 + experience looking for consistency in employment of at least 2 years per job)
Be able to independently read, interpret and follow blueprints on structural steel and or stairs and rails.
Cut and shape metal and be able to use torches and tools to cut and shape metal pieces. Be able to measure all metal pieces to ensure they conform to needed specifications, and be knowledgeable on grinding metal to ensure it meets specific measurements.
Be able to align metal parts by hand and by using various tools.
Be able to lift metal pieces into place using hoists and cranes.
Be able to tack and full weld metal pieces together per AWS D1.1
Be able to design JIGS to assemble multiple metal parts to specifications.
Knowledgeable with use of measuring skills to take accurate, precise measurements of materials and to follow schematics and needs to be able to read blueprints.
Knowledgeable use of mechanical skills to work with various tools and equipment
Be able to work in a collaborative team environment that requires good verbal communication skills
Hand tools (levels, pumb bobs), power tools (grinders, Jacks), welding tools (torches, aprons, and face masks), measuring tools (mesauring tapes, rulers, and squares), lifting tools (hoists, cranes and cables), brake press, shear machine.
