Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Financial Controller to join our team in Houston, TX. Reporting to the VP of Finance, this role will be responsible for leading day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting the company’s continued growth through insightful financial management.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and brings both operational discipline and a forward-looking mindset to the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
•Oversee the financial close process, including preparation of monthly management reports.
•Ensure accurate calculation and recognition of revenue across multiple projects.
•Evaluate project performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics.
•Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
•Prepare and present financial statements, cost analyses, and performance dashboards to senior leadership.
•Implement and refine cost control measures; identify opportunities for efficiency and savings.
•Maintain and enhance a robust internal control framework and accounting policy documentation.
•Perform research on technical accounting issues, with emphasis on IFRS compliance.
•Monitor and assist with month end financial close cycle and prepare timely monthly management reports; may include cash flow requirements across subsidiaries and business units.
•Coordinate annual audits and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants.
•Ensure timely and accurate compliance with all applicable federal, state/provincial, and local tax filings (corporate, payroll, etc.).
•Deliver financial analysis and reports to support decision-making and business planning (financial statements, project analysis, and labor hour reports).
Qualifications and Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
•Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, ideally in a publicly traded, multi-currency manufacturing or technology environment.
•Strong understanding of IFRS, particularly as it relates to revenue and inventory accounting.
•Experience with cost accounting, project-based budgeting, or financial modeling preferred.
•CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation strongly preferred.
•Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with modern ERP systems.
•Proven ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders.
