Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Financial Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of financial management, including financial reporting, budget preparation, and the development of internal control policies.
Responsibilities
•Coordinate and direct the financial planning, budgeting, procurement, or investment activities of all or part of an organization.
•Maintain knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
•Monitor and evaluate the performance of accounting and other financial staff, recommending and implementing personnel actions, such as promotions and dismissals.
•Receive cash and checks and make deposits.
•Prepare and file annual tax returns or prepare financial information so outside accountants can complete tax returns.
•Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
•Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, or reports required by regulatory agencies.
•Evaluate needs for procurement of funds and investment of surpluses and make appropriate recommendations.
•Develop and maintain relationships with banking, insurance, and nonorganizational accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities.
Qualifications
•Master degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
•Proven experience in financial management roles
•Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial principles
•Proficiency in general ledger reconciliation and account analysis
•Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial reporting
•Experience in public accounting is a plus
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
•Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines consistently
