Job Summary:
The Corporate Controller is responsible for managing the company’s accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance with ASPE, and other regulatory standards. This role involves completing and overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and internal controls while providing strategic insights to support the organization’s financial health and growth. The Controller works closely with the Vice President and other mangers to drive financial strategy and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
•Financial Reporting & Compliance:
•The preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
•Ensure compliance with ASPE, regulations, and other relevant standards.
•Coordinate and manage audits and tax filings with the corporate accounting firm.
•Perform general ledger activities, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and fixed asset management.
•Maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
•Develop and enforce accounting policies and procedures.
•Budgeting & Forecasting:
•Lead the annual budgeting process and monitor performance against financial plans.
•Prepare financial forecasts and variance analyses to support strategic decision-making.
•Provide actionable insights through financial modeling and scenario analysis.
•Foster a collaborative environment to ensure efficient workflows and high performance.
•Partner with the President and Senior leadership to align financial strategies with business objectives.
•Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
•Support mergers, acquisitions, or other corporate initiatives with financial expertise.
•Monitor and mitigate risks related to financial operations, including fraud, liquidity, and market risks.
•Ensure proper insurance coverage and compliance with contractual obligations.
•Oversee the maintenance of accounting software and ERP systems.
•Leverage technology to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or advanced degree would be beneficial.
•CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) certification is strongly preferred.
•7- 10+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3-5 years in a controller role.
•Experience in Oil and Gas Construction is preferred.
•Proven track record in managing financial reporting, audits, and compliance.
•Strong knowledge of ASPE, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
•Proficiency in QuickBooks, with advanced Excel skills.
•Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
•Strong leadership and team management abilities.
•Effective communication and presentation skills for interacting with stakeholders.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Work Environment:
•Full-time position, office-based with occasional travel for audits, meetings, or corporate events.
•Reports to the President or equivalent executive.
