Field Service Technician – Utility Locating & Network Support

We are seeking a skilled Utility Line Locator and Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for locating and marking underground utility lines to prevent damage during construction projects, as well as performing break/fix work, network troubleshooting, hardware replacement, fiber/cable splicing, and on-call after-hours response. This position covers a service area spanning Grand Junction to Aspen, Colorado.

Duties

- Use specialized equipment to accurately locate and mark underground utility lines

- Read and interpret blueprints to determine the location of utility lines

- Operate backhoes, forklifts, and other equipment as needed

- Conduct land surveying to identify precise locations of utilities

- Collaborate with construction site teams to ensure safety and efficiency

- Provide field service support for utility locating and cabling projects

- Perform break/fix services to restore service and resolve outages in the field

- Troubleshoot network issues and diagnose connectivity or performance problems

- Complete hardware replacements and equipment swaps as required

- Perform fiber and cable splicing to industry standards

- Provide on-call and after-hours response for emergency service requests across the Grand Junction to Aspen corridor

Experience

- Previous experience in utility locating or related field is preferred

- Proficiency in blueprint reading and land surveying techniques

- Familiarity with backhoe operation and forklift handling

- Strong understanding of construction site protocols and safety measures

- Experience with break/fix, network troubleshooting, hardware replacement, and splicing strongly preferred

- Willingness and availability to participate in an on-call rotation and respond after hours

- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the Grand Junction to Aspen service area

- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
