Fabricator with Experience & Welder (Will Train to Weld)

Welder/Fabricator job summary Assemble or fabricate mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications.

Essential duties and responsibilities

- Read, interpret and follow production work orders and drawings.

- Fabricate parts according to product shop sheets, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately create products.

- Prefer candidate experienced with welding steel and stainless steel alloys

- Utilize saws, drill presses and handheld tools such as a hand held screw gun, drills, and grinders.

- Maintain weld machines and department equipment using preventative maintenance methods

- Maintain inventory of manufacturing product and welding consumables

- Create specific weldment set-ups and fixturing to meet geometric requirements

- Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards

- Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures

- Prioritize and complete work through effective communication with management staff

- Maintain a clean and safe work area

Preferred Qualifications:

- Ability to read a tape measure, use hand tools, drill press, etc.

- Ability to work safely in a fast- paced environment producing and fabricating metal assemblies.

- Ability to be at work on time on a daily basis.

- Supportive of change on the shop floor.

- Experience in metal fabrication and/or assembly a plus

- Basic reading skills and must be able to follow directions

- Basic computer navigation and utilization skills preferred

- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly

- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem

- High attention to detail and self-motivation skills

- Specific technical or vocational training or certification preferred

- Work in a team environment and respect all teammates Physical demands and abilities

- Regularly lift 30-50 pounds

- Regularly perform repetitive tasks

- Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately

- Ability to operate a fork-lift and an overhead crane

Will train if you do not have experience in metal fabrication.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.50 - $24.00 per hour
