The Farmers Reservoir and Irrigation Company (FRICO) is a mutual ditch company incorporated in 1902. FRICO's business office is in Brighton, Colorado. The FRICO system consists of four major and several smaller reservoirs and approximately 400 miles of canals extending from the Front Range foothills to east of Greeley, Colorado. FRICO provides the major storage for the municipal needs of 300,000 citizens of four municipalities in the northwest Denver area and for agricultural use.

FRICO is seeking an experienced fabricator to join our team. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for reading blueprints, measuring and cutting raw materials, and assembling metal components into finished products or structures that meet precise specifications.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in various welding processes and commitment to quality craftsmanship and safety standards.

Weld Test Required

All applicants selected for interview must pass a pre-employment welding and fabrication competency test.

Key Responsibilities:

· Read & Interpret: Analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.

· Prepare Metal: Measure, cut (plasma, torch) bend, and form materials.

· Weld & Join: Fuse metal using various techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick) to create structures

· Assemble: Fit and join components to build items like railings, trailers, tanks, or structural frames.

· Inspect & Finish: Check welds for quality, grind, and ensure precision with measuring tools.

· Operate Machinery: Use Plasma CNC machines, grinders, presses, and other fabrication tools.

· Maintain: Keep work area, tools and equipment clean and safe.

Qualifications:

· 5 years minimum year of experience in Welding fabrication with AWS certification or similar preferred

· Physical stamina to lift minimum 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and perform labor-intensive tasks.

· Attention to detail – for precision and quality.

· Problem solving – To handle complex fabrication challenges.

· Safety Focus – Strict adherence to PPE and safety regulations. OSHA/MSHA safety training is a plus but the company will train.

Work Environment:

· Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.

· Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet project deadlines and expectations.

· Perform other duties, as assigned by the maintenance division, which may include occasional manual labor in all weather conditions.
