Fabricator

Insituform Technologies LLC, an Azuria Company, is looking for an experienced Fabricator.

Position Summary

The Fabricator will be responsible for fabricating various parts and equipment from blueprints and/or work orders, completing shop work orders, and rework and/or repair of existing mechanical components.

Reporting Status

The Fabricator/Welder reports to the Engineering Manager.

Position Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Primary responsibilities include the following:

- Fabricates various structural equipment from blueprints and work orders.

- Welding, metal fabrication, rigging, lifting of heavy dangerous objects in a safe manner, use of forklifts, use of scissors lifts, use of cutting equipment, torch, plasma saw, assembly and painting of projects as well as general repair and maintenance of shop equipment.

- Completes shop work orders as assigned.

- Diagnoses cause of mechanical malfunction or failure of operational equipment and performs preventative and corrective maintenance.

- Communicates the work schedule to the customer as required.

- Directly supports manufacturing operations in troubleshooting and repairing production equipment.

- Move parts and heavy frames on and off machinery and throughout the facility.

- Other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:

- High school diploma or GED or diploma from a technical school.

- Hands on experience in welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) and troubleshooting.

- Utility construction experience and mechanical experience.

- 3 – 5 of prior Fabrication/Welding experience is required.

- Must possess a working knowledge of fabrication methods and equipment to include CNC-milling machines, various saws, portaband, vertical & horizontal bands, lathe, milling & drilling machines, metal shear, metal lathe, sanders/grinders, power punch press, hand & power benders, rolling machine, hand brake and various power hand tools, drills, etc.

- Proven knowledge of the American Welding Society welding symbols and codes

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze interpret and understand and follow blueprints and fabrication drawings. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to listen and comprehend instructions accurately.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Skills:

Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to use independent judgment and initiative to complete projects on a timely and safe basis.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Must be able to read blueprints and fabricate parts and machinery and be attentive to detail. Must have forklift operator’s license.

Work Environment: In performing the duties for this job, the employee will generally work in a shop environment (with moving vehicles and mechanical operations). Will be occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level is usually moderate. Travel by automobile and airplane required.
