Equipment Mechanic

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Equipment Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment, industrial machinery, and automotive systems. Your expertise will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, supporting our operations and customer service excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery brands including JLG, Genie, Sany, Kubota, John Deere, Cat, (equipment includes: Forklifts, Manlifts, Backhoes, Skid Steers, Light Towers, Air Compressors, and Generators) utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to keep our fleet in top condition.

Duties

- Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery using schematics and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) manuals.

- Conduct repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, air brakes, suspension components, and electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.

- Fabricate custom parts or modifications using welding, soldering, power tools, and hand tools to meet specific operational needs.

- Maintain and repair vehicle systems including brake repair, wheel alignment, tire service, HVAC systems, and vehicle maintenance tasks across various machinery types.

- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators or tractor-trailers for testing or troubleshooting purposes while adhering to safety protocols.

- Utilize automotive diagnostics tools to identify issues accurately and implement effective solutions efficiently.

- Assist with assembly of new equipment or parts as needed while ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality controls.

Skills

- Proven dealership experience or extensive mechanic experience with heavy machinery and automotive repair.

- Strong fabrication skills with knowledge of welding, soldering, and power tools operation.

- Familiarity with OEM schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems.

- Hands-on experience working with farm machinery, industrial equipment, cranes, excavators, forklifts, and heavy-duty trucks such as tractor-trailers.

- Proficiency in diesel engine repair, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, HVAC systems, electrical diagnostics and repairs.

- Ability to read schematics accurately and interpret technical documentation effectively.

- Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills to communicate clearly with team members and clients.
