Hourly Pay: $30 -$35 per hour depending on level of experience and knowledge
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic position is responsible for the proper operations of our equipment. At our sites, different types of machines and equipment are utilized in our day-to-day production. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic is integral in keeping operations moving by knowing how to manage, diagnosis, and repair heavy equipment such as larger haul trucks, loaders, dozers, excavators, skid steers, and forklifts. This is a great position for someone who would like to work on different types of equipment.
· Must be eighteen years of age or older
· Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
· Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience working on heavy equipment such as Caterpillar, Hitachi, and Komatsu equipment
· Relevant experience includes being able to perform troubleshooting and diagnostics on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
· Ability to install and/or replace new or reconditioned repair parts
· Ability to test equipment for proper operation
· Understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuits, drawings, and prints
· Working knowledge of equipment operation and associated operating systems
· Familiarization of computers to diagnose codes and troubleshoot equipment problems more efficiently
· Working knowledge of the CAT ET and SIS computer systems
· Extensive selection of personal tools to be used on the job. Out of the ordinary tools will be provided.
· Course work from accredited trade school, college, or university with emphasis in mechanics, hydraulics, etc.
· Assists and directs mechanic diagnostics and repairs for our Lake Norman Quarry
· Conducts daily workplace safety and maintenance inspections of all critical components and systems
· Ability to train co-workers as needed to better assist in the maintenance areas of the equipment
· Versatile and adaptable to adjust to the needs of the business
· Leadership in setting the pace to achieve goals
Essential Functions, Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
· Able to work outdoors in most weather conditions
· Able to work in a physically rigorous work environment. Position may involve walking, standing, sitting, bending, and climbing stairs. Job may require crouching, stooping, or crawling.
· Able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs
