Pete Lien & Sons, Inc., a multi-state mining, mineral processing and construction materials company, is looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team in Rapid City, SD. In this vital position, you’ll maintain and repair mobile equipment crucial to operations. From light vehicles to heavy-duty mining machinery, your expertise will ensure operational efficiency and safety!

About the Role

As a Heavy Equipment Mechanic your responsibilities will include:

- Performing regular maintenance and repairs on equipment like haul trucks, loaders, dozers, and concrete trucks.

- Troubleshoot and perform diagnostic tests on electrical and hydraulic systems and execute complete equipment overhauls.

- Operating heavy machinery as needed, such as front-end loaders, forklifts, and bobcats.

- Maintaining detailed service records and adhering to all safety protocols.

- 0–5 years of mechanic experience preferred; we’re willing to train the right candidate with a strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn

- Strong mechanical aptitude, basic computer proficiency, and the ability to read manuals, hydraulic and electrical schematics, and follow SOPs. Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.

- Your own set of tools to perform the required tasks. (A Tool Reimbursement Program is available if needed.)

- A valid driver’s license is required; a CDL is a bonus.

- Capability to lift and handle up to 75 lbs., work in varying conditions, and use necessary safety equipment.

- Awareness of and adherence to safety standards and ability to respond promptly to hazards.

- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background check, drug screening and medical exam.
