We are hiring an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist who supports regulatory compliance and employee well-being through hands-on inspections, program administration, training, and first aid response.

- Conduct environmental compliance activities including SWPPP inspections, hazardous waste tracking, SDS management, and preparation of required regulatory reports
- Perform industrial hygiene and exposure monitoring activities and maintain documentation to ensure compliance with permissible exposure limits
- Serve as first responder for workplace injuries, manage first aid supplies, and coordinate first aid training and documentation
- Administer and maintain Respiratory Protection and Hearing Conservation programs, including fit testing, medical clearances, training coordination, and compliance tracking
- Perform monthly 6X safety observations, document findings, and support corrective action follow-up
- Maintain accurate safety and environmental records to support OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory compliance
- Provide consistent field presence and support to reinforce safety awareness, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across facilities

- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Safety, or related field preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in a safety or environmental support role
- Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state regulatory requirements preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work comfortably in active industrial and field environments
- Ability and willingness to travel regularly between company facilities
The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist supports DeLong’s operations by ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations while promoting a safe and healthy work environment. This role performs hands-on inspections, environmental compliance activities, safety observations, industrial hygiene monitoring, and first aid response to maintain regulatory standards and reduce risk.
The position requires regular travel between the Jefferson City and Sedalia facilities and consistent presence in active industrial environments. We are seeking a self-motivated professional who can independently manage compliance responsibilities and help reinforce a culture of safety and accountability.
