Our offices are located in Newark, DE; Harrisburg, PA; Pittsburgh, PA; and Collinsville, IL. While employees primarily service areas close to their home office, cross-country opportunities may arise.
The EHS Consultant will need to have a solid understanding of EPA & OSHA standards, as well as hands-on experience in conducting environmental compliance audits, industrial hygiene sampling, and training development. Leadership experience is a plus, as this role will involve collaborating with teams and leading projects. Please note, up to 30% travel is required for this position.
- Lead and manage on-site environmental, safety, and health-related projects at client sites nationwide.
- Conduct environmental assessments, including lead exposure evaluations, stormwater sampling, and visual smoke emissions.
- Perform EHS compliance audits for manufacturing and construction clients, including site inspections and assessments.
- Conduct industrial hygiene sampling and prepare detailed reports for clients.
- Provide environmental staffing support on-site and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Develop and present EHS training, including HAZWOPER, RCRA, fall protection, lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and CPR/First Aid.
- Take ownership of special projects, and look for ways to innovate and improve processes while contributing to organizational success.
- Mentor and support junior staff to help them develop their skills and expertise.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve the company’s EHS offerings and reputation.
- Travel to client sites nationwide, including occasional weekend trips (approximately 30% travel).
- Strong knowledge of EPA Regulations (40CFR), OSHA Standards (29CFR 1910, 29CFR 1926), and relevant industrial hygiene practices.
- Certification in Method 9 Visual Opacity or the ability to obtain certification.
- Proven leadership experience in an environmental or safety-related field (desired).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and resolve complex issues.
- Experience working in multi-employer environments and navigating diverse workplace dynamics.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and professional reports and presentations.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and relevant environmental management software.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
