Engineering Planner & Document Control Coordinator

Position Overview

QMF Steel, an ISO-certified/AISC-certified manufacturing and fabrication company, is seeking a Job Planner & Document Control Coordinator to support the scheduling of our product lines.

This role is responsible for planning jobs for production and ensuring all engineering and production documentation is accurate, controlled, released at the correct revision level which creates a high rate of on-time deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning

- Coordinate with Sales to review and create new jobs.

- Create and manage Drafting files and Part IDs/Methods for job data entry.

- Develop and maintain production schedules based on capacity, priorities, and delivery commitments.

- Monitor job status and adjust plans as needed.

- Communicate schedules, changes, and priorities to internal teams.

Document Control (ISO Support)

- Control and maintain engineering and production documentation, including:

- Drawings

- Bills of Materials (BOMs)

- Routers / Shop Travelers / Job Jackets

- Specifications and work instructions

- Manage Part Revisions and Engineering Change Notifications.

- Remove obsolete or superseded documents from active use.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Serve as a communication link between Sales, Engineering, and Production.

- Participate in planning and production meetings as needed.

- Identify and help resolve documentation or planning issues that impact production flow.

Qualifications

- Experience in production planning, document control, or engineering support in a manufacturing/fabrication environment.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
