This role is designed for individuals who prefer structured, consistent work over constant change. The Energy & Operational Interfaces Specialist supports critical operational processes that keep Oglethorpe Power's system running smoothly behind the scenes.
You'll work in a stable, process-driven environment focused on accuracy, coordination, and maintaining established systems. This is not a high-chaos or constantly shifting role. Instead, it offers clear expectations, repeatable workflows, and long-term ownership of core processes.
- Maintain and update structured operational data, reports, and documentation (MSPP, RDG, outage schedules, etc.)
- Coordinate recurring processes across internal teams including GSOC, Accounting, Planning, and Billing
- Review and validate data for accuracy and consistency across systems
- Support monthly and annual processes such as scheduling updates, billing inputs, and true-ups
- Track and maintain planned outage schedules and ensure alignment across stakeholders
- Participate in regular coordination calls and recurring operational meetings
- Document process updates and ensure consistent application of procedures
- Identify and support incremental improvements to existing processes
- Lead cross-functional coordination efforts
- Serve as a subject matter expert on operational processes and policies
- Recommend and implement process improvements
- Preference for predictable, structured work environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to stay organized across recurring tasks and timelines
- Comfort working independently within clearly defined processes
- Clear and professional communication skills for internal coordination
- Reliability and consistency in executing established workflows- Specialist: Approximately 5+ years of experience in operations, data coordination, or similar environments - Senior Specialist: Approximately 10+ years of relevant experience with deeper subject matter expertise
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field preferred, but not required with relevant experience
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- Experience working with structured data, reporting, or operational processes
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data tracking
- Ability to follow and apply defined procedures, policies, and workflows
- Analytical mindset with a focus on accuracy and consistency
- Understanding of power systems or energy markets is helpful, but not required
- Ability to work effectively in a stable, process-oriented environment
