SOLON Corporation, a leader in the design and installation of commercial-scale solar photovoltaic systems in the southwest US, is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join its team. The Electrical Superintendent will manage the electrical construction work on all of SOLON’s projects.
- Lead and direct the daily operations of the company’s electrical installation team, including managing area or assistant superintendents, site electrical foremen, and installation crews.
- Ensure that all company work is completed within established safety, quality, schedule, and profitability standards and in accordance with the National Electric Code.
- In conjunction with the company's General Superintendent, lead the management and coordination of project equipment, materials, manpower, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Monitor jobsite safety performance and adjust activities as needed to ensure the safe and efficient performance of all work.
- Lead the procurement of all project electrical bills of materials in conjunction with the company procurement and project management staff.
- Manage the planning and execution of all electrical interconnections and facility shutdowns to ensure the safe and efficient execution of all work.
- Coordinate with company project management and engineering staff as needed to ensure the timely and accurate resolution of field issues and flow of information to field personnel.
- Ensure proper staffing of all projects, including working with company management personnel to accurately project long-term staffing needs.
- Train and coach junior electrical management and installation personnel in an effort to continually develop a stronger, more capable workforce.
- Manage the commissioning and energizing of installed PV projects and associated data collection and control systems.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion and processing of all project field safety, quality, and commissioning documentation.
- Perform and manage troubleshooting, operations and maintenance, and warranty work efforts.
- Actively participate in company engineering functions as needed, including reviewing plan sets for code compliance and constructability.
- Work with business development and engineering teams to perform site assessments and investigations of facility electrical systems.
- Lead efforts to monitor and implement changes to standard procedures, methods, materials, and installation details in an effort to increase project quality and profitability.
- Other duties as assigned.- 10+ years of demonstrated success in an electrical construction supervisory role within the commercial, industrial, or renewable energy industries.
- Master electrician certification or equivalent desired.
- Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other local and national building codes and standards.
- Ability to effectively lead and direct crews with varying levels of skill and experience. Must be a natural leader and organizer who leads by example and sets the pace for those around them.
- Thorough knowledge of all applicable federal and local safety regulations.
- Must be very detail-oriented and able to effectively manage multiple project commitments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Clean driving record and ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Ability to travel as needed. Short-term travel (in-state and out-of-state) is expected with occasional long-term assignments.
