West Plains LLC is a part of BioUrja Group, and we are an agricultural commodity trading business specializing in warehouse operation, risk management, and transportation with a focus on creating value for the company’s producers and consumers. Our customers depend on us to provide market insight, risk management, and logistics support. We are federally licensed and bonded warehousemen that trade whole grains, feed ingredients, freight, and other commodities within North America.

We are headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska and have sixteen locations spread across four states. The company controls nearly 20 million bushels of elevator space through ownership or lease agreements.

We are looking for an

Elevator Superintendent

based out of our Council Bluff Iowa facility. This position performs necessary supervisory functions onsite, including but not limited to, managing the day-to-day operations of a grain site and other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

Provide operational supervision at all assigned facilities

- Coordinate with regional manager and merchandising team for all loading and unloading of grain and feed products

- Ensure compliance with all West Plains LLC safety policies and procedures

- Make best and most efficient use of all West Plains LLC resources

- Maintain total compliance with all OSHA, state, and company safety standards

- Determine staffing needs at each facility daily

- Plan daily operational activities at all assigned facilities

- Monitor and report grain quality and condition

- Provide training to employees as required per company policies

- Maintain a safe and efficient working environment

- Effectively communicate tasks, directives and policies with both senior management and supervised workers.

Job Requirements

- 2+ years Grain Elevator Superintendent experience

- Associate’s (2-year plus) level degree preferred with a field of study tied to the agriculture field, and/or comparable work experience.

- Experience with agriculture and farm equipment is preferred.

- Experience working in a multiple facility role is a plus

- 4+ years Grain Elevator experience

- Ability to problem solve on your feet
