The Director – Corporate Planning oversees the Corporate Planning team, updating the long-term financial model quarterly, working with other stakeholders in the company to evaluate contracting opportunities, and performing ad-hoc financial analysis as required to support long-term strategic planning and decision-making. This role also plays a key role in strategic decision-making regarding investment decisions, divestitures, and capital allocation.
- Oversees updates to the long-term financial model on a quarterly basis and prepares materials for Executive Management and the Board of Directors
- Works closely with Business Development, Operations, Capital Projects, and other key stakeholders to evaluate contracting opportunities and bid economics
- Performs various scenario analyses to understand impacts of key risks and opportunities to the Company’s liquidity position
- Performs ad-hoc financial analyses for Executive Management as required
- Contributes to the corporate planning team by improving existing processes and mentoring and developing team members
- Implements and streamlines processes to gather key modeling assumptions
- Provides assistance to the Chief Financial Officer and other members of Finance and Accounting senior management as needed
- Coordinates with the Corporate Development team to help align competitor models with internal company assumptions for comparable assets
- Develops and maintains technical financial models and performs analyses to support strategic initiatives, including investment opportunities, divestitures and capital allocation
- Gathers and prepares information for Board meetings
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or another business-related field from an accredited college or university (required).
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role in a business of comparable size and complexity.
- Master’s degree or CFA (preferred).
- Experience in Corporate Planning, Investment Banking, or similar roles.
- Strong analytical, research, and financial modeling skills; experience with valuation modeling preferred.
- Proficiency in Excel (required).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Energy industry experience (preferred).
