Headquartered in Birmingham, AL, our field operations are located throughout the Appalachian Basin in the states of Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for performing skilled tasks including all levels of field maintenance, troubleshooting, direct repairs, overhauls and scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment involved in plugging operations.
- Ensure proper functioning of trucks, trailers, service rigs, and construction equipment via conducting routine maintenance and diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs, assess performance, and address any safety concerns.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as brakes, transmissions, and fuel systems.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment history.
- Order and stock maintenance and repair parts as needed.
- Adhere to all company safety practices, policies, and procedures when working on equipment.
- Comply with company policies and environmental and regulatory standards related to diesel engine maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure equipment is operating under current DOT and other state regulations.
- Handle emergency callouts as needed.
- Ensure active and open communication with field operations.
- Perform any other duties as requested or assigned, including occasionally assisting with non-plugging or special projects per direction of management.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
- Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of plugging rigs and heavy equipment, preferably in the oil and gas industry or a related field.
- Strong technical knowledge of various plugging rig systems, heavy machinery, and mechanical/electrical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations and protocols associated with plugging rigs and heavy equipment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Willingness to travel to visit work sites; occasionally requires extended travel to remote locations and/or overnight stay(s) outside normal office area.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors.
- Ability to work overtime and holidays as needed.
- Ability to be flexible with the shift schedule
- Must be able to move or traverse from one location on the job site to another. This includes the ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods, frequently positioning oneself (e.g., to stoop, kneel, or squat) to perform tasks, and occasionally ascend/descend (e.g., ladders or uneven terrain)
- Ability to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and assess driving operations effectively (either naturally or with corrective lenses).
- Ability to operate a 4X4 vehicle.
- Must be able to repetitively move or position feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, and back. Constantly operates, uses, and positions hands and fingers in performance of work
- Must be able to work atop elevated surfaces and traverse various heights
- Lifts or carries 75 lbs. or more, which falls into the "heavy" category (over 50 pounds).
- Frequently pushes and pulls with a maximum force of 150 ft./lbs.
- Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions and is exposed to varying environmental conditions, including well site conditions.

Driver Requirements:- Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record
- This position involves operating a company vehicle for work-related travel or receiving a stipend for operating a personal vehicle for company use; adherence to all traffic laws and company vehicle policies is required.
