Welspun Tubular is looking for a hands-on Design Engineer to join our Engineering team in Little Rock. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving real-world problems, working directly with industrial equipment, and driving improvements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You’ll play a key role in designing, optimizing, and supporting critical equipment used in steel pipe manufacturing—contributing directly to operational efficiency, reliability, and production performance.

- Design and develop mechanical equipment, layouts, and components using AutoCAD (2D & 3D)
- Create and review engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for fabrication and procurement
- Use simulation and analysis tools to validate designs for safety, performance, and efficiency
- Partner with Production, Maintenance, and Projects teams to deliver practical, shop-floor-ready solutions
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and lead root cause analysis to improve reliability
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and increase throughput
- Ensure all designs meet safety standards, quality requirements, and industry regulations
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3–5 years of experience in equipment design (manufacturing or heavy industry preferred)
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD (2D & 3D); experience with SolidWorks or similar tools is a plus
- Experience with simulation tools (ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation, or equivalent)
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and industrial equipment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams
- Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in steel, oil & gas, or heavy manufacturing environments
- Exposure to automation, PLCs, or plant equipment integration
- Hands-on experience working directly with plant equipment
