This is a contract role through Magnit for Consumers Energy in Jackson, Michigan. This role is hybrid to Jackson, MI and will require reporting onsite 3 days per week.

Job Description:

- Create automation solutions utilizing MS tools primarily Power BI.

- Maintain quality of visual management identifying any issues and make updates as needed

- Create and disseminate reports, graphics, presentations, and other visual material as well as occasional speaking or meeting with stakeholders

- Create reports on program performance against metrics and targets

- Gather and form reporting requirements, learn subject matter and extract and transform data and reports.

- Collects, cleans, and analyzes data from various sources using statistical methods and tools such as SQL, Python, R, and Excel.

- Conducts ad-hoc data analysis to support business decisions and strategic planning.

- Communicates data insights via presentations or by maintaining reports, dashboards, and visualizations.

- Identifies trends and patterns in data and provides recommendations for improvement, optimization, and value opportunities.

- Performs basic statistical analysis and understands results from more advanced analysis.

- Applies understanding of data and its interaction with applications to troubleshoot, analyze root causes, and recommend solutions.

- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

- Proficient in the development artistry of highly consumable visual reports, dashboards, and data narratives Expert Knowledge

- Knowledge of primary data management languages such as like SQL, Python, etc. Expert Knowledge

- Ability to connect to variety of data sources proficiently using the queried data in PowerBI Expert Knowledge

- Apply data quality assurance practices in the development of data models and resulting output Broad Knowledge

- Ability to work with large data sets from multiple data sources Broad Knowledge

- Ability to present to a variety of audiences both technical and non-technical Broad Knowledge

- Knowledge and understanding of data modeling, statistical analysis, data visualization, and data engineering Broad Knowledge

- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems Broad Knowledge

- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal Broad Knowledge

EDUCATION:

- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, or related discipline (Required)

EXPERIENCE

- 2 - 4 years Proven track record of turning data into meaningful analysis using Power BI, presenting to business stakeholders, and driving value for the business. Ability to see the big picture and to focus on details when necessary. Advanced knowledge and experience in topics of data and information management. Hands on experience with Big Data/NoSQL Platforms with experience delivering production projects at scale.

Hourly Pay Rate Range (dependent on location, experience, expectation)

The pay range that Magnit reasonably expects to pay for this position is: $40 - $50/hr
