Radiant is an innovative startup based in El Segundo, California, dedicated to revolutionizing the energy industry with the development of portable nuclear microreactors. Founded in 2020, the company aims to provide clean, reliable, and transportable power solutions through its flagship reactor, Kaleidos, a 1-megawatt failsafe microreactor capable of operating independently for up to five years without refueling. Radiant’s approach leverages modern software engineering and existing, qualified materials to rapidly develop safe, factory-built microreactors that can be deployed in diverse locations. The company's mission is to replace traditional diesel generators and support critical infrastructure such as hospitals, data centers, remote sites, and military bases. With plans to test its first reactor at the Idaho National Laboratory next year and initial customer deliveries projected for 2028, Radiant is positioned at the forefront of clean energy innovation and nuclear technology.
