We’re seeking an experienced Commercial Solar Installer to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for installing, testing, and commissioning large-scale PV systems on commercial properties. You’ll work with project managers, electricians, and other crew members to ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
- Participate in daily safety meetings and follow strict site-specific protocols.
- Install racking systems per manufacturer specifications across different commercial roof types and ground-mount structures.
- Install and wire DC/AC equipment according to project plans and local codes.
- Commission PV systems, perform operational testing, and document results.
- Identify and communicate issues or field changes to the Project Manager.
- Safely operate tools, heavy equipment, and vehicles as required.
- Support the team with additional tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean MVR (required to operate company vehicles).
- Apprentice Electrical License (preferred).
- OSHA 10 (required); OSHA 30 (preferred).
- Previous commercial solar installation experience strongly preferred.
- Electrical background or related trade experience highly recommended.
- Solid understanding of local electrical codes and compliance standards.
- Knowledge of commercial PV design, system components, and large-scale arrays.
- Familiarity with construction trades (roofing, carpentry, metal framing, conduit bending, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, and technical manuals.
- Skilled in using electrical testing equipment and troubleshooting systems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with ability to follow and give instructions clearly.
- Ability to safely drive and maneuver trucks and trailers.
- Comfortable working at heights and on commercial rooftops.
- Able to lift 50–75+ lbs routinely and safely.- Capable of bending, squatting, stretching, and working in physically demanding conditions.
- Willing to work outdoors in varying temperatures (30–100+ degrees) and weather conditions.We understand you may not have every skill listed here.
