Safely sets up and operates a 5-axis CNC laser to cut a variety of shapes and materials. CNC Laser Operator sets up, programs, and operates computer-controlled laser machines to cut according to blueprints, performing inspections, routine maintenance, and ensuring safety protocols for manufacturing precision component production.
- Properly sets up tooling and laser for cutting operations
- Load materials, set laser power | speed | gas, and execute cutting|engraving programs
- Ensure laser consistently produces quality parts in the most efficient time
- Checks parts for quality and compliance with micrometers | calipers for accuracy
- Ability to programming CNC laser in G-Code
- Work with engineering to improve cutting operations
- Perform general preventative maintenance on machine
- Monitors usage on gases
- Adhere to strict workplace safety procedures
- Must possess a minimum of 5 years of CNC laser experience with sheet metal
- Programming experience
- Blueprint reading, GD&T and basic math
- Use measurement tools
- Experience with Mitsubishi lasers preferred
- Tool and die making experience preferred
- Technical aptitude (CNC machinery, CAD/CAM, measuring tools).
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- High school diploma or technical certification often required.
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing, often with specific machine types
No direct supervisory responsibilities but must be able to conduct his | her day-to-day duties in a highly professional manner.
