Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 2nd Shift CNC Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting machines to produce precise metal components according to specifications. Your expertise will ensure high-quality production, efficient workflow, and adherence to safety standards. - Set up CNC laser cutting machines by loading raw material, uploading the nesting file, setting up the correct cut database
- Operate CNC laser equipment safely and efficiently to cut sheet metal and other materials with precision
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate fabrication
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on CNC laser machines to maximize uptime and performance
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Adjust machine parameters as needed for optimal cutting quality and efficiency
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication processes involving plasma cutting, press brake operations, welding, and assembly tasks as required
- Proficiency in CNC programming and operation for laser cutting machinery
- Experience with blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings accurately
- Ability to operate hand tools, sheet metal fabrication tools, tooling setups, and cranes safely
- Knowledge of quality inspection techniques using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to machining environments including forklift operation and crane handling
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements
- Understanding of fabrication processes such as welding, assembly, tooling adjustments, and mechanical troubleshooting
