Summary

Kick-start your career in civil engineering with an opportunity to join our Aviation team as a CAD Drafter 1. This entry-level position is ideal for motivated individuals eager to grow their skills in drafting and design while contributing to meaningful environmental and infrastructure projects. As a CAD Drafter 1, you’ll perform clearly defined drafting tasks using CAD software to support civil engineering, permitting, and survey efforts. You should demonstrate proficiency with basic drafting fundamentals and be able to quickly learn and apply new drafting skills. We're looking for someone with a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset. In this role, you'll be expected to work well with others, absorb and apply constructive criticism, and seek guidance from more experienced team members as needed. Team player who mostly functions in a supporting role in a project team setting. Collaborates, listens, takes direction well, and retains information provided. Is motivated to grow skills and help the team. Follows established practice area workflows.

Project Delivery

Basic understanding of scopes, schedules, and budgets. Collaborates with supervisor and/or resource manager to plan work time on assignments. Conducts basic monitoring of budget and schedule for simple project tasks assigned.

Industry Standards and Regulations

Demonstrates basic familiarity with the following drafting standards:

Infrequent direct client interaction. Reads emails, occasionally attends client meetings, listens, and prepares meeting minutes.

Level of Work/Accountability

Performs basic levels of drafting work on projects in support of more experienced staff within the market sector. Operates with minimal autonomy - work is closely supervised by more senior staff.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to create and interpret graphs and understand statistical analysis.
