Drafter/CAD Technician

Our dynamic California based company has been providing quality survey and mapping services to utility and telecommunication companies for over 20 years. We have expanded our services to offer a wide range of distribution planning to our client base. Our Temecula office is looking to add professionally minded individuals to our ever-growing, skilled team.

An immediate opening is available for a an entry-level to experienced Drafter/ CAD Technician. If you are experienced in the below duties, we would really like to talk to you!

Position Description

The CAD Technician (Drafter) will contribute to the production of planner redlines, base maps, exhibits, profiles, elevations, and other land surveying and civil engineering work as related to base mapping.

Essential Functions

- Produce preliminary base maps, to include: interpretation of wet and dry utilities, profiles, details, elevations, coordinates, exhibits, and vicinity maps

- Comprehension and analysis of public right-of-ways, private easements, underground and aerial utilities

- General knowledge and familiarity of underground utilities, civil engineering practices, and basic survey field processes

- Perform assigned responsibilities with moderate supervision

- Adhere to drafting standards

- Ensure all work is routinely backed up and archived

- Ability to work independently and stay on task

- Ability to hit deadlines

- Accurate and detailed oriented

- Excellent communication and consistently available during working hours.

- Other duties as assigned

Essential Skills/Qualifications

- Proficiency using AutoCAD drafting software, Civil 3D experience a plus

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Microsoft Access experience a plus

- Ability to meet competing deadlines

- Organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Physical Demands and Work Environment

- Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity for company equipment

- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate as this may be a remote position.

- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 10 pounds

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, Distance vision, Color vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and ability to adjust focus

- This job operates in a professional office or home office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as desktop computers and photocopiers

Pay: $24.00 - $34.00 per hour
